Background

The Leicester Compact process started with an initial consultative conference held in July 2005, and was followed by two meetings of the Compact Consultative Forum. The report of the conference and notes of the Forum meetings can be accessed below.

In preparing the Compact a drafting group was drawn together from the voluntary and community sector, the Council and Connexions Leicester Shire. In January 2007 they issued a draft consultation version of the compact to get the views of voluntary and community groups and organisations and public sector bodies. The consultation period ran from January 2007 to March 2007.

Leicester Compact Drafting Group used the issues that emerged from the consultation to finalise the Leicester Compact between November 2007 and January 2008. These are outlined in the 2007 consultation report.
